Black women are often called “alpha females”—not because we wanted the title, but because survival demanded it. We’ve led households, carried families, and stood strong when no one else did. At 50, I can say I don’t want to lead alone anymore. I want partnership, trust, and balance. The lesson? Strength and softness can coexist—and the right man will understand that.
