Welcome to my new home online—Where Life Gets Slightly Messy, Mostly Real. This site brings all of my ideas, passions, and ventures together in one space: my books, recipes, downloads, master classes, and more.
For those new here, I’m India Trotter, a sleeved gastrectomy alum since July 22, 2020. I began this journey at 265 pounds on a 5’6” frame, battling hypertension and pre-diabetes. Weight loss surgery was my answer, but it was only the beginning. Since then, I’ve lost, gained, lost again, and learned that this is not a finish line—it’s a lifestyle.
With over 40,000 friends on Instagram, I’ve built a community focused on transparency, laughter, and accountability. I’m passionate about bariatric support that’s messy, funny, and real. It’s about more than a number on the scale—it’s about healthy recipes, self-love, midlife reinvention, and yes, even the chaos of dating over 50.
Here’s what you’ll find on this site:
Books that keep it real:
Slightly Skinny, Mostly Anxious – a bariatric cookbook and foodie guide with 200+ mini recipes, fast food hacks, and strategies for enjoying food after weight loss surgery.
Slightly Over It, Mostly Anxious – a raw and witty survival manual for dating over 50, boundaries, and rediscovering confidence.
Slightly Skinny, Mostly Anxious (Memoir) – my unfiltered journey through bariatric surgery, perimenopause, GLP-1s, and midlife reinvention.
Slightly Unbothered, Mostly Anxious – unapologetic stories and reflections on Black womanhood, resilience, and survival.
Cookbooks & free downloads: Flavor-packed bariatric recipes and mini guides for anyone living a lighter, healthier life. (Mini Bites Tiny Bellies, anyone?)
Mini Master Classes: Tools for mindfulness, middle aged dating, bariatric living, healthy cooking, and self-love after weight loss surgery.
This site isn’t just about books—it’s about connection. It’s a place where bariatric surgery, perimenopause, and womanhood are celebrated. A place to laugh, learn, and share the victories—whether it’s a non-scale win, a successful recipe, or surviving another swipe on the dating apps.
At the heart of it all, my vision is simple: to keep it honest. To create a space that reflects real life after weight loss surgery. Because life is slightly messy, mostly real—and that’s what makes it worth celebrating.
So, take a look around. Grab a free download. Check out my books. Sign up for updates. This is just the beginning, and I’m thrilled you’re here for the ride.
